How to program WPS and SBS files

Hi All

I am eager to develop for Rockbox in the Themes and Appearance front. I have already developed a few WPS and SBS files by getting little snippets of code from other themes and customising them to fit my preferences and stitching together different parts of different WPS files to make a custom one.

Finally, my real question: Is there a handbook or manual for developers or a manual that shows what the code means?
