Roc Digital "Rocbox" 20gb player -PP5020 chipset?!

hello all!

I have one of the nightmare players: 20gb Roc Digital "Rocbox"

from what i have read, "the rocbox uses the PortalPlayer PP5020 chipset, it's like an "all-in-one" chip. The iPods use this chip too."

will Rockbox work on my Rocbox?(i know different companies...etc...)
-worth asking before hitting it w./ a hammer.....
