odd character folders & possible corruption

(1/1)

mcf57:
I installed a few these the other day and now I seem to have some corruption. My Sansa works fine, but there are now numerous misc folders that are odd characters.

I connected it to a computer to take a look and see what is going on. When I go to the Sansa's main directory, there are indeed numerous odd character folders. One of them is names liked this:

!"#$.%&

When I tried to delete them, I am getting the following error:

"Cannot delete file. Cannot read from source file or disk"

Any suggestions on how else I can delete all these ODD folders? Or is it gonna require formatting or reinstalling Rockbox somehow?

evilnick:
These *might* be the folders that are created when using your Sansa in MTP mode, but to be on the safe side, I'd advise checking the filesystem for corruption (chkdsk or similar).

mcf57:
none of these odd folders were there before & all was good for the last several years. It all happened after I added some themes. I used the Rockbox utility to try and these themes, but apparently something didn't go right.

mcf57:
OK, as suggested, I checked the filesystem for corruption (w/ chkdsk). Came back with 2 errors so I ran chkdsk g: f/ on the Windows cmd prompt line. This seemed to fix the errors. Rockbox now seemes to load properly. Thanks
