Clip+ freezing when fast-fwd

Erasmus:
My Sansa Clip+ freezes some of the time when I fast-fwd or rewind. It won't even turn off. The only thing I can do is put a rubber band over the power button and after 10 min. it shuts off. Anyone know the remedy? Is this a known bug?

The 10 minute time period there sounds rather suspicious...
It sounds as though it's simply hitting the idle timeout value, a test would be to see if it shuts off itself without your intervention with the rubber-band/power button.
