OGG playback problems

(1/1)

Reaper:
I've searched around the forums to see if my problem has already been solved but I've ran into a new that I think justifies a new post. First of all, I'm glad to be a Rockbox user and a forum member. I appreciate all the efforts of the developers.

Anyways, I've recently (for portable listening) converted my lossless (FLAC) music collection into OGG q6.5. I used the encoder oggdropXPdV1.9.0-aoTuVb6.03. I've enabled the encoder to copy FLAC comments and tags. This where things get a little weird. Almost 95% of the time, the encoding goes well and my sansa fuze v2 can play those OGG files no problem. However, 5% of the time, certain files simply are skipped/freeze up my sansa/or simply won't play. I've searched around the forums and learned that the tags could be the problem. That has worked for only 1 or 2 stubborn files. However, there are still some OGG files that won't play regardless if the tags exist or not. Leading me to think that the original problem is more than just tags. Because, 95% of all of my OGG files play with tags with no problems.

I'm looking for suggestions as to what the problem could be. Thanks everyone!

UPDATE: I just set the encoding priority to HIGHEST and the stubborn file that would only play without tags suddenly was able to play WITH tags. Why the sudden change? There is still that one file that won't play either way.

UPDATE2: Tried encoding the stubborn file using oggdrop libVorbis v1.3.2. It still wouldn't work :S

You may have run into bugs in Rockbox's Vorbis metadata handler and the Ogg decoder. I suggest to keep the problematic files around and file a bug report on them.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled Rockbox with the current build and that seems to have done the trick. All tagged OGG files seems to be working fine. Thanks anyways!
