upside down mode for ipod video/classic 5.5 ??

hi, first post. my setup is such that i really need upside down mode. my rockboxed ipod mini has the upside down option in the lcd settings. however, i recently picked up an ipod 5.5 video, loaded rockbox on it, but can't seem to find the upside down mode option anywhere. is it hidden in some menu that i am not seeing? is it not an option for this version ipod? thanks

It does not seem to be an option for this player.  I'm not sure of the reason for the absence.

The upside down option is implemented as a feature of the LCD controller. I.e. you set some register in the controller and it will then flip the orientation of the display. Since that's done in the controller there is no code in Rockbox involved. If it's not available on your player there are two possible reasons: (1) nobody has figured how to do that on the controller in your player, or (2) the controller doesn't have this feature.

It's unlikely anyone will work out how to flip the Video's screen any time soon; the Video has a very complicated and entirely undocumented display controller. If you absolutely need this feature, I'd suggest you start working on a patch to Rockbox to flip the framebuffer in software (such that it's drawn onto upside-down).
