Ipod Classic 6g 160GB: Not recognized Correctly via USB

Hello
I installed Rockbox on my Ipod Classic slim 160GB model via emCore and was able to boot. I connected it via usb to my Win7 PC and it showed up as IpodClassic under my drive list. When I attempted to copy about 100GB of Flac files onto it, it eventually became disconnected. Any further attempt to connect the ipod would show up as "Removeable Disk" and read as 0 bytes available under the drive's properties.
I reformated the storage partition under emCore and the drive showed up correctly when i plugged it in again. I was able to copy the currentl svn build for ipod classic and a small selection of files.
I disconnected the ipod and was able to initialize the rockbox database and listen to the flac files. But when connecting the ipod again to copy more files, I came across the same issue. The ipod is no longer recognized correctly and i've lost access to the storage partition.
I've also noticed and now, connecting the ipod crashes rockbox and I'm forced to manually restart.

I know this is a very early build at the moment, but has anyone faced this issue?

Thank you.
Post Merge: June 05, 2011, 08:14:10 PMI was able to get my ipod to connect correctly by uninstalling the Apple Ipod Classic driver from device manager, restarting my PC and reconnecting the ipod, allowing windows to reinstall the driver.

I'm getting the same issue  it copies some of the songs then it stops and it says something that the files are not in the location been extracted which is dumb because  I can access them through another windows explorer windows and  play them, but what is missing is the actual iPod, well it is shown on the devices list but the device looks empty and when i touch the buttons on the iPod nothing happens it just stays dark. what I have to do is press on the iPod  menu and select buttons at the same time for a while then it comes back to life, next press select button again by itself and after a little while my computer recognizes it again, then on my computer i have to press to "try again" to relocate the files and also check the small box that says do the same for the remaining files, then it goes back to work. After a couple of minutes it gets stuck and i have to do the same process over and over it is 6:30am and I can't go to sleep. any one with good ideas how to resolve this issue? i already tried uninstalling the driver and restating same.

I had the same issue, but I have found that only transferring 4 folders at a time prevents the issue.  Yes, it is a pain, but I knew going in there would be some issues.

I also had rockbox freeze on the startup screen displaying "committing database 1/9" after trying to rebuild the database.  That problem I solved by using emCore's tools/"clear database".

I also (at the same time) had my computer fail to recognize the ipod, but that problem cleared at the same time the database problem cleared.

I must admit, so far I am loving this software, drag and drop plus flac support would have been enough, but the level of control/customization offered is phenomenal :)

**edit

Turns out my issues arose from the imminent failure of my iPod hard drive.  After a warranty replacement, rockbox is functioning almost flawlessly.

I also get into the trouble. I can't transfer files the twice time or transfer big files unless I re-install Rockbox and the bootloader again.

Try this:
Press and hold the MENU + SELECT buttons to reset then immediately press and hold the SELECT + PLAY buttons. This will put your disk into disk mode. Then plug it in to your PC. Try reformatting the drive and restoring the Apple iPod firmware. Copy all your files. Then put Rockbox on it.

Hope this helps. ;)
