Doom, Classic 6g 80gb
« on: June 05, 2011, 02:20:30 PM »
Got Rockbox on my Classic Ipod 6g working fine. Installed Doom and various .wads. But when ever start the game it hangs and freezes on the 'Starting Graphics Engine'

Am i doing something wrong or is it not supported on the 6g, as Rockbox is still a work in progress on the 6g.

Rockbox on the Ipod 6G is classified as "unusable". This has a reason. Plus, Doom is useless anyway :)

yeah, i have got RB on my 80gb classic as well, and that is exactly what happens w/me. i am more concerned about the mpeg player not working. does that work for you? mine just gets frozen on a black screen.

The timers Doom uses are not present on the Classic. There is a workaround that uses the plugin timer instead: http://gerrit.rockbox.org/r/912
EDIT: Also there is a patch that fixes the user timers: http://gerrit.rockbox.org/r/1032

It wonk work unless you have a player with the 4 way, a select and back button volume buttons , and a top menu button. Like a Sansa clip zip will work just fine.
