IPOD Video 5.5gen connection problem

Misspell:
By chance, have you tried a different USB port on your computer ?
If not, i would give that a try (even if it means unplugging something else).
I rember when i used to run Windows on my PC, every now an again i would have to plug USB stuff into different ports.

If i rember correctly, when i start my 5.5G in Disc Mode, it says "OK to Disconnect" and after i plug it into my PC, it changes to "Don't Unplug" and says that intill i unmount it, then it will change back to OK...

I don't see where you've explicitly mentioned using a second computer or second USB cable.

Since the problem exists in Apple OS and Rockbox OS this is a hardware issue, and hardware includes everything in the chain from PC USB controller to iPod USB controller.

Thanks...I've tried multiple computers, cables, and ports. Maybe it's a bad pin or two in the Ipod. I'm out of ideas.
