Clip+ won't play music, displays root.
« on: May 31, 2011, 10:41:43 AM »
Tried searching for an answer, but didn't find one.  My problem is that none of my music will play on my rockboxed clip+.  When I select a song to play, it shows (root) (root).  Also when I try to reinstall the rockbox firmware, the autoinstaller doesn't recognize the player.  Other than that, it seems to be working fine.  When I turn it on from a charge and it starts with the sansa firmware, the music plays like normal.  Your help is appreciated.

What kind of files are they?

Are you saying that autodetection doesn't work but that specifying the model and mountpoint works?

All files are affected.  I use a mix of mp3, mp4 and some flac.

Neither autodettect or manually specifying works.

Probably a corrupt file system.

If you use Windows you can use chkdsk to repair damaged file systems.  On Linux it would be fsck.vfat.
