noob questions
« on: May 31, 2011, 03:26:07 AM »
Hi!
I've got 2 issues latest with rockbox on my sansa clip:the
1. My folders receive some strange 8-digit indexation in 'files' tab. Is there way to eliminate this?
2. I changed something in settings that makes left\right buttons on joystick to rewind within  the current track and not to go to the previous\next song (this mode I'd like to get back).
Could anyone help me pls?
Thanks in advance.

0. Bad topic. Really bad topic. Do you really expect people to look at that topic with this title?
1. No idea what you're talking about.
2. http://www.rockbox.org/manual.shtml

1.Going to 'Files'- <microSD1> (it's my external mem card) I see for example
 100B000_David Guilmor
 C4070000_blah-blah
 etc. ...
2. RTFM... Understood (though I hope someone still would help me)
And sorry about bad topic. But what else could you expect from noob :)

I digged through the manual but unfortunatly  :-\ could not find the answer to the question:
How to assign 'play previous\next track' to the left\right buttons.
Thank you

1. If you transfer your files in MSC mode you can name them whatever you want.
2. Search the manual for "Skip length"

Thank you Chronon for the HELPFUL reply!
To solve the renaming problem one should use <28 symbols in a folder name.
Check here:
http://forums.sandisk.com/t5/Clip-Clip/Folder-Names/td-p/125597
I will learn 'skip length' chapter once more, thank you for targeting!
There is also another less elegant way to solve it: uninstall\reinstall the rockbox OS (that's what I did and it worked fine) (:

Removing the settings stored on disk and thus reverting to the defaults would have done the trick as well.
