It would be very valuable to be able to have playlists be components of other playlists, i.e., to make the playlist structure recursive. Of course one can now include the components of a playlist in another playlist, but the identity of the included playlist is not maintained.
Recursive playlists would be very useful for classical music, where one might want to shuffle symphonies, say, but not the individual movements of symphonies. In other words, the entire symphony is moved relative to other compositions while its movements are played in the correct order. It's not just for classical music, though; collections are often of interest in other genres, e.g., a concert given by a particular artist.
Generally, the Album/Artist/Song structure doesn't map classical music well. Classical music has hierarchies that are not so common in pop music. As an extreme example, Wagner's Ring Cycle has five operas. Each opera contains several acts, and each act contains several music segments. Or Beethoven's string quartets are divided into Early, Middle, and Late. Each group has several quartets, and each quartet has several (usually four) movements.
