If you use the OF presumably it'll start storing its junk in there.

Those '##' directories are created by the original firmware.  You can delete tham (I often do) but they will be reacreated if you unattach the player from your PC while the OF is running.

As I understand it, the ##MUSIC## folder is where the original firmware stores music files that are transferred to it using MTP mode. For whatever reason, the Sansa firmware doesn't make MSC-transferred and MTP-transferred content simultaneously viewable on a PC; it will only show content that has been transferred in the mode you are currently connecting with.
