Apple Accessory Protocol for the iPod Nano 2G

Hi!

I have a Logic3 Dock (MIP116), Rockbox playback works flawless, but Rockbox doesn't respond to any of the remote control buttons (Next, Previous, Play), Apple Firmware does.
Volume control does work, however it seems volume is controlled by the dock itself, as pressing the buttons reduces/increases the volume, but is not recognizable on the UI.

After I went a bit around in the RockBox Wiki, if found this nice page: http://www.rockbox.org/wiki/IpodAccessories

It mentions a Apple Accessory Protocol which is only implemented in iPod 4G, 5G and Nano 1G. As the Nano 2G is now official build, is it possible to implement the Accessoy Protocol into the Nano 2G build? Or can it be implemented via compiling RockBox myself?
Or would this not solve my problem at all?
