jbg:
I've got the sansa clip+ and I've loaded rockbox so have a dual boot.
When I connect it to my PC I open it in windows explorer and get 6 folders
.rockbox
AUDIBLE
AUDIOBOOKS
MUSIC
PODCASTS
RECORD

I upload folders of MP3s into the music folder

when booted into the sansa os the only folders are in Music-folders-music (2 folders) and also Music-folders-MTP-Music (1 folder)

however
when booted into rockbox there are more of my uploaded music folders

Files-##MUSIC#-Audiobooks (two folders not the ones visible on sansa os)
Files-##MUSIC#-Music (4 folders only one of which visible on sansa os in MTP)
Files-MUSIC-(two folders both visible on sansa os in Music

Can anyone advise on whats going on.

btw I have searched the .rockbox folder in windows explorer and there are none of the elusive folders in there

I've just tested uploading a file into the MUSIC folder and it appears in:

sansa os  Music-folders-music

rockbox Files-MUSIC

You can't see these on a windows PC.  Search if you want to know more.

Either you're in MTP mode instead of MSC mode, or you're in MSC mode but have set windows to not show hidden files.

jbg:
Its already on MSC mode and hidden folders were viewable

Then the .rockbox folder is either visible or not present.

obviously you set it to MSC mode before flashing with rockbox but did you go back in and change the setting again afterwards? installing a new firmware resets all the OF settings back to default.
