Worth buying a used/refurb 5.5g 80gb ipod?

(1/1)

systemlayers:
I miss the days when I had a 5th generation ipod (not the days when I used itunes with it). I had rockbox loaded on it and it was awesome.
I've been without a good mp3 player (i have my nokia n900 in a pinch) and I'm wondering if it's worth getting a 5.5g unit off ebay for 200 in change new or 150 refurb?
As far as i know the ipod is still the only player with a true line out is that correct? I'm looking at getting a fiiO e7 headphone amplifier that can be bought with a line out.
Or is there something else I should look at in this range?

Lots of players have line out.

Rather then get a player to use with a cheap amp, its usually a better idea to get a player that doesn't need a cheap amp.

What kind of player do you actually want?  How much storage?  etc...

Y'know...there's a maemo port, the n900 is a fine device if you let it be.
