corrupt wav issue

Hi,i've recorded in wav format with my sansa fuze v1 (rockbox 3.8.1) and somehow the file got corrupt.Now,when i import it as raw data in audacity and hit play,i recognize the voices,i mean the whole file is there,but the voices are super slow(or low pitch or whatever,i'm a true noob when it comes to audio tech)(volume/gain's also waaaay too low but that's not a major issue)
I can export this raw data as mp3,but of course,the ''monster like voices'' are there.What should i do to fix this?
By the way,you probably already realized this but the wav files themselves won't play in ANY player.I have to import them as raw data in order to hear the monsters speak.

I've already tried SUPER,wav saver,etc and i don't know how to fix wav headers manually.

I really need this because what i recorded was half of my (finals)exam questions(yeah i guess he was having a good day so he gave them away)

So i'd appreciate any help towards getting me a good grade

You selected the wrong sampling rate.  Set it to whatever you used when recording, probably 22k or 32k IIRC.

i did not mess with any recording setting on the fuze so it should be 44.1(as it is the default)(i chose pcm wave as the format and that was all)

and if you mean chose the wrong sampling rate when importing to audacity,i tried changing the sampling rate in the preferences.
Other than that,the only change i can make to the sampling rate is in this window(this is what i get when i select the file)


I've also checked out any other settings and nothing's wrong

It doesn't have to be with audacity though.Any other program that lets me open and fix corrupt wav files would be great

I don't even think the fuze can record at 44.1khz.

When you import a file as raw PCM you must specify a sampling rate.  If you do, and the speed/pitch is off, then you picked the wrong one.  Go back, figure out what you set it to when recording, and then choose that in whatever software you want.  Or just try 22k and 32k, since its probably one of those.

I ''did'' change the sampling rate,i specified at least 5 different sampling rates but nope,still the same voices.

I also did some other test PCM recordings without changing even a single recording setting and they all seem to be in 44.1(checked them out at mediainfo & winamp)

The problem might not even be pitch by the way,that was just coming from a guy who doesn't have any idea about audio tech.All i know is the voices are horrible

By the way all i wanted was a program to fix corrupt wav files.Thanks for your help but since i don't know what's exactly wrong,i can't fix it myself.Just need a program to help me fix the file.

Can't you just open it as it is? Presumably it is a wave file?
Or do you know that the header is corrupt?

What you need to do is change the frequency. In sound forge the thing to do is change the sample frequency WITHOUT resampling, can't remember what it is in Audacity.

But you need to get it imported in and then adjust, and then save it.

I messed with pitch and did some noise removal,sat real close to speakers,tried to hear every single word and succeeded.BUT,i will keep the link in mind,seems like the article i needed.Thanks.
