Modding a GoGear HDD16x0 to use CF instead of Microdrive
« on: May 09, 2011, 12:49:23 PM »
So we all know that the iPod mini models are very easy to mod and replace the Microdrive with a CF card, but here's the question: has anyone ever tried the same with a GoGear HDD16x0? I was thinking of trying this project out one day when I get another couple of spare CF cards.

I did attempt this once before, but the card I used (A-Data Speedy 4GB) didn't seem to register with the Philips OF. I dismissed it as the card not being good enough, but I would like to have another go at this project, perhaps this time with a better card.

My best idea is to clone the drive to the CF card before doing the surgery. Anyone else have any luck doing this, however?
