iPod 1G *PANIC* Stkov main (0)
« on: May 06, 2011, 09:58:27 AM »
Hello. I've been using rockbox for ages now, and recently I dug up my original iPod 1G and decided it was time to upgrade my battery and get back to rockin'. I was having some problems with the battery meter never showing that I had a charge at all, even at full charge. It didn't read voltage properly either. Also I had issues with the database, it was committing to database every boot, and when I would select database, it said that it was not ready. So I would update or initialize and it would say requires reboot. Upon reboot, it tried to commit to database again and it would repeat. I'm not sure exactly when the error popped up but on one reboot, instead of committing to database, I was greeted with the rockbox logo followed by a brief "scanning" then the HDD winds down the screen goes white and displays
*PANIC*
Stkov main (0)
accepting no button input and requiring reboot.
Normally I would just format the ipod and start over. I only had access to a pc for a day so I only have OSX available. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling rockbox with the official utility, manually deleting the .rockbox folder and adding in a new one, using different builds and now every time I boot into rockbox I am greeted with the same panic stkov message. What does this error message mean? Is there some sort of corruption? The stock os works fine, and it holds music just dandy through itunes.
any help is greatly appreciated.

Have you checked your disk for errors recently?

no, i havent. but i assumed things were fine because of the fact that music deletion and reloading was working fine and played fine in the stock os. as well as files. i am just perplexed as to what causes the stkov main error to occur at this point, that and the battery meter to not function at all. ive basically accepted i must return to a different windows machine with firewire to do a complete wipe and reinstall.

With which build(s) does this happen?
