I downloaded the redneck lang file.  How to I use it?  I though only english.voice enabled speech.  I put it in the language folder.

You need to compile it into a .lng file for use in Rockbox.  It isn't very explicit, but contained in the "Safety checks" are instructions on creating a .lng file from the .lang file:

I don't think those funny .lang files have been updated in quite a while, so it's possible there will be a lot of missing/incorrect strings in the resulting .lng file.
