Songs repeatedly stop and start on Clip+

Hello, all. I just set up Rockbox on my Sansa Clip+, but when I attempt to play songs, they stop and start repeatedly. I'll hear less than a second, then a second of silence, then less than a second of music, then silence, etc. I've never had any problems with the player before, and everything else with Rockbox (i.e. Doom) seems to work fine. What am I doing wrong?

What files are you playing?

mp3 files, usually 128-256 kbps.

Not a bad idea to post your rockbox version or svn revision, and the a copy of your config.cfg file.  Maybe someone will have an idea.  Also, check the file system for errors. 

Maybe someone will spot something.

Update: Okay, I reformatted my Clip+ and the problems exists on my regular firmware as well. It only happens when the volume is turned up high. Weird.

That kind of problem was already reported for the original Clip. Depending on how the headphone plug fits, short-circuit protection may be kicking in. Try another cable or whatever.

Indeed, I've tried a different set of phones (my old iPod phones) and it works like a charm. It was the stock Sansa phones that didn't work.
