aac.codec error on ipod video(5th gen)

Hey everyone! I've had Rockbox for about a week now and I just love it! The only problem seems to be getting my aac(m4a) files to play... every time I selected one to play, I would get a ''Data abort at 0003FD80 (0)'' screen. I figured that there must be a problem with the aac codec included in the rockbox installation, so I decided to replace the codec list with one from the current build for ipod video (5th gen). All went smoothly but the aac files would still crash the system each time one was selected....  Any ideas?  ???

pondlife:
Have you tried installing the cutting-edge (i.e. not 3.8.1) Rockbox completely (i.e. not just the codec)?  If not, I suggest you do so - there's been a big rework of the codec interface recently.

Let us know if that fixes it or not.  If not, it would be useful if you could post a bug report and attach an example .aac file that crashes.

Thanks for the quick response pondlife! Yes, I've tried installing both the entire current build and latest stable release(3.8.1) multiple times but to no avail.. I've also noticed that now instead of going to the white error screen when selecting a track, it shows the ''now playing'' screen for the track and the player freezes up completely.

It may sound like a stupid question, but which bug report? I would attach an example aac file, but it would exceed the 128kb size limit..

I appreciate your help!

The bug link on the left side of your screen, although unless your files are small you'll need to provide your own hosting anyway.

Kalriszian:
Okay I posted it to the bug report.. Is there any possibility that I could somehow extract an alternate aac codec decoder to the rockbox device? Just curious..
