iAudio X5 - bad checksum error
Chronon:
That would seem to be the bootloader version rather than the firmware version/revision.

Ah, okay. Well, I downloaded the one that was on there on Saturday (which said r29792 underneath it then and I see it still does now, so I assume there hasn't been a new one since Saturday) and I just tried it again, both manually and with the Rockbox Utility. Still have the same error message coming up, still absolutely fine when I flash it back to the iAudio firmware.
Chronon:
I think you are mistaken about the revision you tried on Saturday. It looks like more than 20 revisions have taken place between last Saturday and the current build, which is r29793 as I post this.
Unfortunately, I don't have a good idea of what's causing the behavior you're seeing. I will let you know if I find anything.

Okay, thanks Chronon.
Like I said, I downloaded the (then) current version last night, but it's the same error over and over again.
I'm wondering whether the best thing to do might be to format the whole disc and start again from scratch ???
