Help: rockbox install on droid x

I'm a longtime Rio Karma/Trekstor Vibez user who recently purchased a Droid X. I would really like to try out the latest Rockbox for Android build but the instructions I've seen so far seem to be fairly complex. Can someone help me with an easy install or point me to some simple instructions.
Please be gentle as I'm a newbe to all of this.

I don't know the Droid X but on Android you just get the apk and install it. Where's the problem?

Thanks bbrother, I thought I might sound stupid but I was following instructions involving SDK and NDK when I just wanted a quick install. So stupid I am... APK is all I need. Yes?

Android has apk as package format and you can install those directly on the phone. No magic or special software required. Unless you want to build Rockbox yourself from sources, create a build with patches applied or hack on it.
