PC wont recognize sansa clip+ with rockbox

Hello,
Ive recently installed rock box on my sansa clip+. Everything was going well until I had to recharge the device. When I connected my sansa clip with rock box running, my PC wont recognize it. But when I reset my clip to the original firmware and connect it the device does get recognized and works perfectly. Ive tried reinstalling rock box, resetting original factory settings, formatting the device, using a different PC, using a different USB cable but nothing helps. I hope someone can help me out and point me in the right direction.

I think that USB in Sansa Clip+ is not yet supported by Rockbox, that's why your PC doesn't recognize it.

To access your files in the Sansa, you need to reboot to the original firmware and then connect like you did. Reinstalling Rockbox or resetting the settings will do nothing.

hi m8 thanks for the reply,but i dont get it?!? i have a usb cable of my onwn i have the latest firmware offisial thats already installed to it and it finds the sansa i can see the FOLDERS and stuff BUT it  dosent have a DRIVE LETTER TO IT,wth is going on,alot of people have already installed rockbox why cant i? it only say sansa clip+ not sansa clip+ G: damnit, =( i just want to install please think of something thanks

Are you carrying on threads with multiple screens names? Hard to follow.

Is your USB mode set to MSC as per the instructions?

Glad you found your way to Rockbox.


...and please try to avoid the use of CAPITAL letters and do use real words, not "omg" and things alike. They might be OK in other places, but not in this forum - it makes things much harder to read. It's a rule so please respect it.

b4you isn't me. Just wanted to get that confusion out of the way.

Ok so USB isn't supported yet in the Sansa Clip+, so this means every time i want to put something on my Clip+ I have to boot back to the original firmware and then back to Rock box? Can anyone please confirm this?

Rockbox should automatically restart your player and boot into the original firmware, but yes the original firmware needs to be used for now.

edit: I don't own one of these players.  This is based on what is described in the manual. 

edit2: Apparently, that part of the information was inaccurate.  I have posted a patch for the manual at FS#12102.
