clip v2 bootloader bricks it

I'm attempting my first rockbox install on my clip v2, and every time I install the bootloader, the clip bricks, whether I'm using the automatic installer or doing it manually. (that is, it finishes updating firmware, gives an "update complete" message, and turns off, and will not turn back on)  I am able to bring it back by shorting the spots on the back and dding the oem firmware on.
As I said, it's a clip, I think I started with 2.01.16 firmware, and I've been using either the 2.01.32 or the 2.01.35a firmwares, which work when dded in as the oem firmware (unmodified), but not with the bootloader, I guess I hadn't thought about dding in the modified firmware...? would that be a possibility?  I doubt it, I assume that's what the clip is doing when it says that it is "updating firmware".
Thanks in advance!

Guys could you send me one of those Clipv2 so I can see what's so special about them?

I live in Canada, if shipping is a problem for you I'm sure we can find a solution

EDIT: I just received one, will report when i make progress

funman:
Fixed in git and all binaries are released.

So, does that mean the issue has been finally fixed for Clip v2 players?

In the current build, can we assume the risks for a Rockbox bootloader installation are the same for all Clip players?

Thanks.
