Can't get rockbox on fuze

I have wanted to get rockbox for a while now, and today I just got the time to download it, but it won't download onto my fuze (v1). Whenever I go into configure, autodetect doesn't find it, and even though it will download fine to the C: drive, my fuze doesn't show up under the C: drive. (it won't even download to the D: drive) Any way to get it to work? Also, What I stated above is about all I know about computers, so if you can explain everything in a way that is understandable to someone with no computer experience it would be appreciated.

Hard to tell where you are in the install process. Not sure why you are trying to download it to the Fuse. Are you using the suggested automated install utility?

Any chance you are following the instructions in the manual?

I tried the automated installer because, as I said before, I know very little about computers. I also read through the manual to see if I was doing something wrong, and I went through what it said. Still didn't work though.
I'm not quite sure what you mean by your question of downloading it to the fuze. The manual made it sound like it was downloaded directly to the mp3 player. Is this not the case?

What drive letter does your Fuze get?

I don't see a drive letter for it.

Have you set the usb mode as per the first step in the manual?  I would strongly suggest using the rockbox utility to install. Start again and when you hit a problem state clearly where you are in the process,  what went wrong ,and/or what error message you received.

I don't see a problem with it. I completely overlooked that step, but it seemed to solve the problem. Thank you for the help.
