Themes not uploading to Clip+

(1/1)

TheAlmightyGuru:
This issue occurs when I use the Rockbox Utility to upload new themes to my Clip+.

I start with my Clip+ connected and identified by Rockbox Utility. On the Extras tab I click "Install Themes". This gives me I get the list, and I select my desired theme, and click Install. The progress log shows that the theme was installed successfully. However, when I unplug my Clip+ and go into the Settings -> Themes Setting -> Browse Theme Files, the new theme is not in the list. I checked the Themes and WPS folders in the .rockbox folder, and indeed the theme did not copy over to my device.

I am running Rockbox Utility as an administrator. Also, I can manually download and copy over the theme and it works just fine. However, Rockbox Utility doesn't seem to copy it over.

Any ideas about what I doing wrong?

bluebrother:
You might have been hitting an issue with the unzip code. Some newer zip tool use different version headers, and the extraction code in Rockbox Utility unfortunately fails silently on that.

- which themes do you have problems with?
- can you try a current svn build of Rockbox Utility (available at http://tinyurl.com/rbutil-dev). The extraction code has been replaced recently and this should fix those problems.

TheAlmightyGuru:
Okay, I've run through 15 themes, and I've found that most of them work fine. Only 2 of the 15 I tested fail. Those are gizmo and micro.

I tried both of those themes on r28107, and they still both failed.

That's quite old and outdated (as one can pretty easily see from the file date). Please use the most recent version when testing -- the revision you mentioned doesn't have the changes I meant. Hence they will still fail. I've asked for trying a current svn build for a reason ;)

Edit: I've tried the two themes mentioned (though without a Clip+ so I can only check if the files are present) and it works fine with a current svn version so I consider this the issue I mentioned and therefore as fixed.

TheAlmightyGuru:
Ah, my mistake. The list of builds is sorted oldest first for some reason. I just assumed the top was the newest. I guess I just made an ass out of you and umption.
