Sans Clip+ - Skin RAM usage difference between player and simulator

(1/1)

HornetMaX:
Hi al,
I've a Sansa Clip+ (in "Menu System / Debug / View hardware info" it says "Submodel: AMSv2 variant 1") with RB r29712.

With the standard theme loaded I've noticed that the "Menu System/Rockbox Info" the "Skin RAM usage" says something like: "5.91KB / 49.0KB". On the other hand, the UIsimulator (same release, r29712) says "6.11KB / 53.0KB"

I'm concerned about the difference between the max sizes (49KB vs 53KB): I do have a rather big theme that loads fine in the UIsimulator (as far as the skin RAM taken isless than 53KB) while it doesn't load fine in on the Clip+ as soon as the skin RAM taken is above 49K (verified on the UIsim).

Hence it seems that the max limits seems to be correct in both (the UIsim and the Clip+).

Any idea why there's this difference ? Is the simulator max just an hardcoded value (not reflecting the real max) ?

MaX.

P.S.
Not sure if this is the right section for this kind of questions as it seems to be
