iPod 3G flickering when resuming playback after boot, but nothing to resume
(1/1)
Sudos:
so I upgraded from 3.8 to 3.8.1 today, after seeing that it released. upon bootup, I had nothing to resume playback on, but I clicked the option anyways to see if I did.
Instead of getting the notification that there was "Nothing to Resume", I got a quick flicker to what looked like my current theme (DancePuffDuo) and then back to the main menu. the bug also happens with all other themes I have installed, so it's not a themes issue.
I tried a fresh install (with my old one named .backup, mind you) and this also occurred once more, but when reverting to 3.8 over this fresh install of 3.8.1 manually, this went away. I also installed 3.8.1 manually instead, checked to make sure I got the full entire zip file for it, checked md5sums and such, and the same occurrence happened.
so I know that it's a bug on this particular model. Currently, I'm seeking out any iPod 2nd and 3rd generation owners with 3.8.1 to see if this also occurs on their players, as they share the PP5002 in common. However, I want to see if this also happens for users with players based on the PP502x chips as well. However, any response on whether this specific bug happens for anyone is greatly appreciated.
I'm calling this out to the general community before I go ahead and submit a flyspray bug task, as I don't think it's right to submit such with only myself affected with the said bug, because it's possible I could be the only one this is affecting.
just to add on, this is an iPod 3G, 10GB, Manufactured early 2004, as says Apple's website when I drop in my serial number.
AlexP:
I've only tested on a fuzev2, but everything works correctly and as expected.

Still having the problem. I'm going to load up the current daily build for today and see if it's still going on. will edit with details.
EDIT: Still happening in r29706-110411. Adding onto the above, I also noticed it's spinning up the HDD when I press it as well. I'm still waiting for more possible confirmed cases for this specific model or those players with a PortalPlayer PP5xxx before I submit a Flyspray bug task.
