Flac/Mp3 Replaygain problems

Hello,
just some clarification on a problem I seem to have with RG.
I use Foobar to tag the files as a single album.
Then update the files and move them to my 5.5gen iPod.
On Rockbox : Replaygain - Replay Type - Album Gain.
On the iPod screen I get: "RG On ......"
But the volume varies very much between songs!!
I know Saratoga advised somebody on the forum about tagging mp3s in ID3v2.
That's what I do (with mp3s)...............still!

Do you have any other advise?

What is the exact version of rockbox that you use? I am asking because there were several changes in the RG area after v3.8.
Could you provide 2 or 3 problematic tags or files somewhere?

Sorry about posting in the wrong area....!
 
...anyway: I use Rockbox 3.6 because....ehhmm...as a longtime windows user who only recently moved to mac I'm still a bit weary of "upgrading" to a new version.
Obviously nothing to do with Rockbox.
Simply because of regular problems I used to have with windows.
Do you actually advise to do it?
Concerning the posting of files: how can I do it?

Update to the current build, and if you still have this issue, post again.  But we don't support 3.6 anymore, so don't ask about it here.
