Instant return to WPS
(1/1)

Seems necessary in devices lacking a dedicated pause button, to stop playback, for example while in the middle of a game, or when lost in menus.
Wouldn't long pressing home button, instead of its present "file type to show" - which seems a menu you do not want to visit all the time, better serve as return to WPS While playing screen?

There should be a button (or combination) that returns you to the WPS. Have you checked the manual for your player?

Thanks! In clip+ It is Home+Select (when something is playing).

You can't do that for plugins. A plugin takes over the complete screen and buttons so unless the plugin supports this there is no way.

I also see that this home+select combination does not work at all times, because as you press and hold home, occasionally you enter its speed menu before you hit select.
It seems that's because Long Home is registered still upon pressing - not after release (when no other button is pressed), which would solve the problem.
This means that in order to pause you may happen to need two hands and focus on the screen.
Even except for plugins, which can be treated as an extra, I think that if in order to pause for sure you had to press and hold home (which would surely lead you to wps) and then pause, also access to all the other transport functions, like rewind and ff, next and previous track - without the necessity of taking the player out of your pocket (or unclipping) to look at the screen.
Just for the consideration of the Developers. I am aware that there are different purposes of using a player (like audiobook vs music) and different habits.
Any comments?
