Did downgrading work?

I suspect I have a similar problem with my sansa clip+, RB 3.8.

Still 1.3 GB free on sansa.
Most files copy and play well.

But one specific mp3 file does not copy!

Directory opus reports semaphore something error, and windows explorer (XP Pro SP3) says path too deep.

What is strange is that all the other mp3s from that folder copy well.

I tried to outsmart myt clip+ and join all the mp3s from the folder into one big mp3 (a nice function in directory opus).

But when I copy the big file, transfer seems to jam right when reaching the stage of the faulty file.

Really strange! The resulting big mp3 plays well in winamp (and so does the small file). How could an internal fragment of code make the file uncopyable...

It is as if a certain combination of colors in a jpg picture did.

edit: Still, the file copies w/o probs onto my client's sony walkman

LyTning94:
I tried downgrading but I couldn't copy the new files to my player, so I backed up all my files and formatted the drive.  I then succeeded in installing the bootloader, but when I tried to install rockbox itself I got the same error again.  So, apparently it isn't rockbox itself.  IDK if it is my computer or my player (thought I don't see how it could be the player, since I formatted it).
Post Merge: April 02, 2011, 10:54:48 PMIt appears it had nothing to do with either the player or the computer.  It was the USB cord.  I tried a new one and it worked fine.
