I used chkdsk with windows and it did report a problem with the first, small partition. Gave nothing of value telling me what was wrong and it didn't fix it, but I went ahead and just started from scratch.

I hope you mean fsck, or fsck.vfat, e2fsck is for a different kind of filesystem.
The "first, small partition" is not supposed to be visible in Windows; it is of type "none" and Windows should consider it not to exist. If it has a drive letter for you to run chkdsk on, then your ipod is not partitioned correctly...

You might want to borrow a Windows computer and restore the ipod with itunes :)

Chauncellor:
I did mean fsck.vfat, apologies :)

I used libparted to trash the whole thing, used Windows/itunes to restore/reformat it. It's been running a lot better.

I guess this was a problem with FAT32 corruption/fragmentation. Seems resolved. Thanks for the help, I'll necro this topic if something comes up and 3.7.1 or the latest build doesn't fix it.

Thanks again!

I've also been having issues. I gave up on trying to use the database and transfered all of my library over manually, just to have rockbox start freezing within 10 seconds of loading. 3.8 has been nothing but a mess for me. I get divide by zero errors when I attempt to change songs, or certain songs just skip to the next song halfway through playing, or I get memory read errors randomly when changing songs or menus. I'm downgrading back to 3.7.1 because I haven't had a single issue with it since it was released.

Does the current build work?

DapperDan297:
Not sure. I'll download it and give it a shot though.
