Archos 2 Vision
(1/1)
xjetera:
I never thought I'd say this about something, but Rockbox is too well documented.
I read through the introduction stuff, and even found the list of devices on which Rockbox is able to run. But I was never really able to find the answers I needed;
1) Can I install Rockbox on my Archos 2 Vision?
2) Should I?
and
3) Will it do what I want it to do?
The last one is the kicker. I bought the Archos as it claimed it would play FLAC. But, it doesn't seem to play any of my FLAC files. My uses are simple; I just want to listen. I don't need to record or have crazy fonts or play games. I just want to take some of my music with me when I roll, and my library is almost exclusively FLAC. As such, it's almost exclusively useless with my Archos. I hoped that Rockbox was the answer. So I found my way here. But I quickly got buried under all the information. If anyone wishes to help me along here, I will appreciate it. Thank you.

See this page for a list of players Rockbox runs on: http://www.rockbox.org/
xjetera:
So, given that the Archos 2 Vision isn't listed explicitly, that implies I cannot install Rockbox on it, correct?
Chronon:
Correct.
Llorean:
It's not mere implication. The list is explicit and even says "If your player is not listed above, then Rockbox does not run on it."
