Quick question about Doom for Sansa Clip+
« on: March 20, 2011, 02:15:26 PM »
Noob Question: Is there ANY way to make it easier to see? Like using a .wad file (not a wad file like doom.wad or plutonia.wad) to change the textures. I am still very new to Rockbox so please to not get angry at this :C.

EDIT: Something like this.

I've tried Google, before you tell me to use Google.

I won't tell you to use google, but I will tell you not to send private messages about this to random people.

It looks like the same image from this post, in which someone describes changing the textures to improve visibility on the Clip.

Yes, it is that image.. If you do know.. How would you change textures in a doom wad?

EDIT: Chronon's post isnt showing up.. Sorry if it looks like a double post

I'm not sure what happened to my previous post.  I was mainly pointing out this other topic
http://forums.rockbox.org/index.php/topic,25668.0.html

If you search around you should be able to find some WAD editors.

My posts seem to show up in recent posts when you reply.  Not sure what's going on.

Hey, I see different messages in the reply screen than those that appear on the topic, too!

(this has already happened before on another topic I posted, but only with one post)

This post is only seen on the reply page (at least for me):

So.. Does anyone know if it will still be EXTREMELY blurry? What makes it really blurry anyway? (The static)

The screen is monochrome; to obtain other shades the plugin has to flicker the pixels on and off very fast. This makes it really blurry and awful-looking. There's not a lot you can do about this.

next step would be moving statusbar to the top(yellow part) of the screen and makeing it usable by removing that face and showing life and amo in a clear font

That will require actual coding, however.
