Some songs not in database
« on: March 18, 2011, 01:11:15 PM »
I just put some new songs on my ipod (30 GB 5th Generation) and when I updated the database they weren't there. I can browse to them in the file viewer, but they're not in the database. I know they are tagged, because I sorted them using an auto sort-by-tag software, and it worked fine.

Any ideas what's going on?

Thanks!

I had a similar problem. I think you need to leave some time between pressing scan and the tracks appearing in the DB. Because you have 30GB, Rb is probably scanning all 30GB finding new tracks. So all you need is maybe five or six minutes before checking the DB.

If Rockbox can play the tracks when they are selected in the file browser, just wait some time for them to appear in the database, assuming you have the setting to update the DB automatically turned on.

If they are taking much time to appear (or to update the data of existing tracks, like their rating), turn off the player and on again, and the database will appear updated.
