RTL language (Like Hebrew and Arabic) support in Plugins

(1/1)

haim:
Hi,I don't speak English well, so I'm sorry for the mistakes... I installed patch of Wikipedia on Rockbox, (http://www.rockbox.org/tracker/task/4755?type=4) the problem is that when I open the file of Wikipedia in Hebrew (Arabic is also effective), the text is aligned to the left instead of right side, This creates a serious problem when there is also numbers in the text, but also in normal lins (without numbers or english word) its very uncomfortable to read the text, also because of it links within the text are not in the right place. It will be possible to add support for RTL languages in patches (Like Hebrew and Arabic)? (so it would be possible to choose the alignment, right or left) so the text will be aligned to the right instead of left, Because today Rockbox itself has no problems with RTL languages, but when you open another file (like patches) Rookbuak not aligns the text to the right.
thanks, Haim.

Chronon:
Plugins don't get to use the bidirectional code written into Rockbox's core.  It's certainly possible, but at this point each plugin needs to implement this on its own.  Since that patch hasn't been accepted, any build that includes it isn't technically supported.  If you are interested in this patch getting bidirectional support, the Flyspray task is the best place to discuss this.
