Sansa Clip Plus Refreshing your media

(1/3) > >>

mrsubway:
I know that as of right now, the USB mode in the Sansa Clip+ is disabled in Rockbox.  That's okay, but everytime I connect to USB, I get the refreshing your media prompts, which lasts for about 5 minutes.  Then when I add or change files and disconnect, I have to wait for it to go through this again.  Is there a way to disable this, or is it simply something the original firmware has to do.  Not a high priority question, but I'm curious.

Same here. I've got a 32 GB SDHC card, and every time I do so much as rename a song, I have to wait ten minutes before I can listen to music again.

I saw on anythingbuipod.com someone posted this:

If you're using Rockbox, you can use the file browser to delete the ## folders, then if you fill the internal memory to within 90mb of the max, it won't refresh the DB when you unplug it. It will prevent you from using the OF though, so this only applies if you have Rockbox.

Is this correct? What are those ## folders for? I don't want to delete them if they're important.

LivArt:
It runs! I've deleted every folder with ## and when I disconnect player, it shows original menu instead of "refreshing database". I have 200MB free in player.  But must'nt change anything on the player (add/delete songs etc.).

keyb_gr:
How do you even access these ## folders? They don't show up in the file browser for me at all, even though database creation does index them. ???

Anyway, in my experience the OF skips database refresh when connecting to a computer. Then, after modifying whatever it was, "safely remove" the device and forcibly shut it down while it's still connected by holding the power button long enough. Unplug the cable, and you're good to go.
