Sansa Fuze v2 Line Out
« on: March 16, 2011, 02:07:57 PM »
I was going to Buy myself an LOD for Sansa Fuze V2, currently running Rockbox and loving it, but then read on the forums that Line Out is not Supported for Sansa Fuze V2 with Rockbox.
my question, does the development of USB drivers for Sansa Fuze v2 for rockbox also mean Line Out would be supported in the builds?if yes, i'd still go for the Line Out Dock, if not, why isnt there any work going on for it?

No, USB and Line out are unrelated.  At present it is not known how to detect and enable line out on the Fuze V2:

So, if we somehow discovered how the  OF detects a Line Out Cable attached, it might work here on RockBox too?

can't there be something like this:

we plug in the LOD,
and in Rockbox we (The User) selects whether the Line Out has to be activated or the Headphone Out continues to output the signal.

Please correct me if i am Wrong

I think you could implement something like that.

No, I think its a reasonable thing to try and do.

Well if you're not interested in doing anything, why are you asking about how to do it?

I never said i am not interested to do it, if till my final exams are over, nobody works on this, i might very well read all the articles and try to make something work.
i basically was trying to suggest something that can be done, and wasnt thinking nobody would have tried that before.

And I wasn't be sarcastic.  I was suggesting that if you have an idea, you should try it and see if it works.

I heard somewhere that the line out has been implemented in one of the development /current builds.  Would anyone please confirm if this is true?

I cannot seem to find anything on this.

Thanks.

There's a patch available, but reading through it, u'll discover Line Out if available on the Sansa fuze V1, not the V2.
have commented on the Patch page, dont know when Michael will reply though.

OK, so till now i have found this, on the page where diyLOD for the sansa fuze (http://www.head-fi.org/forum/thread/421318/sansa-fuze-s-diylod-v1-v2-guide-56k)
that, pin number 7 and 22 are shorted in order to make the OF detect an LOD (Line Out Dock)
pin 27 is right Line Out
pin 28 is left line out
Pin 29 is Audio ground

the detection is based on shorting of pin 7 and 22. need some help here....
what to do next?
