Rockbox plays nonexistent music

(1/1)

jedd.jarvis:
A few days ago I installed the latest build, wiped the Music folder, and reloaded all the music on my iRiver HP20.  Now when I shuffle the root playlist it plays some songs that aren't there.  They do not exist in the playlist and physically do not exist on the drive.   ???

What exactly do you mean by "plays"?

You do realise that if what you're saying is correct about the files not existing on the device is true...this is impossible, no?

Are you sure they are simply not hidden?

If they play, they *must* be on the disk...they simply must be.

EDIT: it is likely that these files exist in a trash folder on the device that has not been cleared, or that the attributes are hidden and the "show files" on your OS and/or Rockbox don't allow you to view them.

If it is playing them, the files *are* on your device.

Chronon:
The files could be in a "recycle bin" left there by your PC's operating system.  You can use the Disktidy plugin to find and remove these files.

Hey jedd.jarvis

what happens if you view the properties of the file that's currently playing in the wps? There should be the information of the path of the file and you can check where it is located.
