Rockbox Utility is causing Windows 7 to hang (WAS: Hope this is the right fourm)

I am trying to install the latest rock box(first time) and when i tell it autodetect,manually tell it  my mp3 player(sansa e200) my pc hangs.I am running windows 7 any help would be great

If you haven't yet, put your player into MSC mode.  If your PC still hangs, you'll need to either fix your PC or find another one to use.  Personally I would fix your PC, it will be hard to use your mp3 player without a working USB port.

in the future give your thread a meaningful title or it will just be ignored/closed. how is someone else with the same problem going to find the solution with the current title?

Rockbox Utility is an application. It CANNOT cause the Operating System (i.e. Windows) to hang. If the OS hangs then the OS is broken. It CAN cause itself to hang, but that's a different story.
