Require continuous white noise for baby - rockbox solution?
(1/1)

Hi,
Sorry if this is not the place to ask this question.
What I am wanting to do is loop a mp3 of whitenoise with crossfade repeat/playlist so it is continuous.
The file I currently use and run through laptop/Windows Media Player is 60 minutes long. This mp3 could definitely be shorter and this may solve some of my problems as well. I am yet to try this. We don't want to use the computer in the baby's room as we need to use it ourselves.
Windows media player seems to cause a pause every once in a while, I guess for processing, on a long playlist, with the long mp3.
I am looking for suggestions on an appropriate MP3 player to do this. I believe IPOD Nano will do this but am also unsure of how effective the Nano would be.
Any suggestions will be great.
The key to what I am wanting is continuous white noise, no gaps, as it tends to stir the baby.
My current solution is to run the laptop AND a white noise CD on a player on repeat!
Thanks & regards,
Ande

I think using any mp3 player at all and lame with the "nogap" switch should allow you to loop random noise without a glitch when it repeats, although I'm not 100% sure. Using rockbox with normal mp3s should also work.
Recording Guy:
Or use PCM Wave as your format.
Just tested it in RB 3.8 and seems to loop okay.
Playback option Play One.

Thanks for your answers, much appreciated.

Try pink noise or brown noise. That is more comfortable to ear.
