For the Fuze v1 the forum post explicitly lists a "Manual Firmware Update", for the v2 it unfortunately does not. I think this can be a bit confusing but it's Sandisks site after all.
True, but the Rockbox manual should make mention of this on v2 so it is made clear.

This is not entirely correct -- that folder "fuze02" is created by Mac OS X. This is a known behaviour of OS X (it will always create a folder with the basename of the zip and extract all contents into that folder) that can be quite annoying (if the zip file is packaged "properly" and contains its files into a separate folder). On Windows you only have two files in the archive, no folder.

Now I know that anyone else who may find themselves in need of help can find the answer. Simply searching for .bin will bring this thread up. :)
