clip+ display is messed up both in rockbox and in normal sansa mode

First of all, please let me know if this should be in another forum.

I've tried looking around, and haven't found any references to this problem.

The display on my clip+ is severely messed up.  Sometimes it only gives me snow.  Sometimes it displays (mostly) the correct screen, but with a bunch of flickers and parts of the display shifted up or down.  Sometimes it does that but with the display upside-down.

I see this both when I'm booted up into rockbox, and when I'm booted up into the original sansa OS.

This started last night.  My battery was extremely low and I had it plugged into a car charger and was playing the solitaire game, and the top 1/4 of the screen started acting weird.  After I exited the game, the entire screen started acting weird.  I played around with it and was able to get boot up to the original sansa mode looking fine, so I plugged it into my computer, left it charging for a few hours, and that seemed to fix the problem.

Then I accidentally left it playing music all night.  In the morning, the display was acting up again.    This time, I cannot get the display to ever look right. 

When I plug it into my computer, the computer sometimes sees it and sometimes doesn't.

Any ideas?
