Custom WPS does not load on Android

(1/1)

chris_h:
I have created a simple test WPS consisting of one line: "%it" (which would only display the track title). I save the file as /sdcard/rockbox/test.wps and try to load it from within rockbox via the file menu. "Loading..." appears for a very short time on the screen, but the WPS is not loaded, instead the rockbox_failsafe is used.

Am I missing something or making some mistake?

Thanks for your help.

JdGordon:
you need to put it in /sdcard/rockbox/wps/test.wps for it to load

chris_h:
Thanks, that works. I guess "Custom WPS files may be located anywhere on the drive,..." as stated on the Wiki does not apply to the Android application.

Interestingly, when I have a .wps file in /sdcard/rockbox/wps/, no other WPS options show up in the Theme Settings - not even the default ones that were there before. This is in r29348-110220 for a 240x320 target.

JdGordon:
the wiki (and possibly manual) is outdated. You used to be able to load .wps from anywhere but that broke ages ago and hasnt been fixed yet.

And no, thats by design. Android looks in /sdcard/rockbox/wps. if that folder doesnt exist it then looks for /data/data/org.rockbox/wps which has more restrictions on it.

I would personally love for the rockbox apk to not include any themes at all but provide an initial download step which gets the theme and fonts (making the apk smaller)
