Files Not Appearing

When I enter the file browser on my ipod nano 2g, and click on the folders: calendars, contacts, notes, playlists, and my folders that I created named songs and videos, nothing appears. It worked before, but now none of my songs or videos appear in their respective folders. Anyone know what's wrong?

Nevermind, I solved the problem by going to settings then file view and selecting show all files.
