lrcplayer ja
« on: February 19, 2011, 07:01:33 PM »
How do I make it work? Is there a download for it I am missing? ( some sort of file ? ) I know that yu had to download a file to make the midi player work.
I can get lrcplayer running, however there are no lyrics displayed. I am wondering what to do?

Thankyou ^^
Sincerely,
Red. ;)

The Manual describes it well.

Oh。 ( T_T)\(^ー^ )
...Baka...
Should I facefalm for this? I am sorry, when you say 'See the manual' you would think I would Look there before posting ANYthing,,,
I shall let you Know if I have any Other questions AFTER Reading the Manual, thankyou.

Edit: Ah. I See. So the lyrics Player is Not what I thought it was . How dissapointing. I thought that it could Be Used for any Song-file Type Supported by rockbox ( mp3, wav , wma, Flac , etc. ) and would Show the lyris of that file being played.

Can I convert my .wav's / mp3's to a file Extension Supported by lrcplayer? OR is there a bit more to it than that?

lrcplayer can read lyrics from the USLT or SYLT id3v2 tags in .mp3 files, or from a plain text file with the extension .lrc, .lrc8 (UTF8), .snc , or .txt

The manual outlines where the plugin will look for (and in what order of preference) these files.

So, it can Sync a Song with lyrics from the separate lrc8 file? The Play simutaniously? Und it can Read lyrics off of some mp3's? Hm,,,how does it manage to do that? So, a Newely recorded mp3 on rockbox from Radio can Show lyrics?

Goodnight ( ´ ▽ ` )ノ

If you're recording from FM...then no, of course there's not going to be any embedded lyrics.
The lyrics need to exist in either a plain text file, or in the USLT or SYLT id3v2 tags...as outlined in the manual.

EDIT: I'm not even sure it's possible for anything to display lyrics, in realtime, synced, from nothing but audio....if it is possible, it certainly wouldn't be possible to do so with the limited resources that a digital audio player has.

Ok...

T.V.'s have Done this... Am Not sure if that is built in Speech to Text, or broadcasted to the TV. If it was built-in , I wonder what the earliest TV with it was like specifications - wise.

Ok...

T.V.'s have Done this...

Theres a person and/or computer there listening to the TV, and then quickly typing it up the text.  Then its sent over the air with the video and displayed by your TV.  This is why theres often a lag on live TV between when someone says something and when the text updates.

FWIW in the future if you want to know how something works, Wikipedia is a great way to find out:

I understand now yes =)
I read there, which was why I mentioned the over-the-air broadcasting closed caption option.
( what I did before posting. )
It said nothing about having built - in speech to text however, so I wondered...
( I came out of Wikipedia confused, understanding only Bits and pieces)

Radio does not have this, as typically radios do not have screens.

~~nani?
No, Radios do Not have a screen, but TV's do Yes
Hm。you are referring to how it is Done however? through radiowaves to a certain Chip in your TV? No. That does Not have a screen, only Relays Information to the TV screen. ( sorry , am unsure what you meant... =S )
Ahha, Radios slightly did use to have this, the Story telling & such you could hear around dinnertime on the Radio.
I Wonder how hard it would Be to make a Speech/ Song to Text Engine...probably enough to give a headache Yes? =)
we have a Text to Speech Engine, ( Reverse Engineering ) OR something of that sort could have a possible Speech to text Engine?
The Resources it would use would probably Be terrible... If it did Run at all.

I meant that radio signals do not also carry closed captioning (text)* as TV signals do, as (a) radios have no screens, and (b) radio is inherently an aural medium.  Closed captioning on TV programmes is to help deaf people; if you are deaf then radio is not for you.

*RDS is a limited system for small amounts of information, it is not used for transcribing all the audio.

RDS ? What is that...
I will try looking around rockbox to find out?
Your current rockbox text to Speech System does nor transcribe all Audio?

Text-To-Speech is the opposite direction (and isn't included in Rockbox either).  You are asking about a speech to text engine, which is complicated with just a clean voice track, much less mixed into music and delivered with non-standard meter and rhythm.

I thought it had voice files, that is not text to speech engine?
