Sansa E280 problems adding songs to player

I have loaded Rockbox on my Sansa E280 a few weeks ago, and since then, I have not been able to add any songs to my player with either windows media player or mediamonkey(I can only listen to the songs that were on before the install).  Now this should be a simple answer, but I have spent many hours in the last few weeks trying to do this so here I am asking for someone to point me in the right direction.  I have rockbox version r29318-110216 and media monkey 3.2.4.1304.  While searching this forum and google for help I have learned how to change the usb mode on the device and it seems it should be on MCS mode, which it is now(I figured usb mode was the problem).   Looking at the windows explorer, all the files that I had on there previously which will play are in hidden folders, while everything I try to add now is not.  When I add files they do not appear in the database on the player nor the recently added list on rockbox.  I have skimmed through the manual - rockbox-sansae200.pdf.  There must be something simple that I'm missing here please help me.  If theres any more specific information I can give you let me know and Ill try but I am no expert at this.

Have you updated the database after adding new files?  Do the files show up in the file browser?

Ah thats what I was looking for, I hadn't refreshed the database.  I really appreciate the reply, I knew there was something easy I was missing.  Thanks.
