Micro SD Card Not Detected

(1/3) > >>

Bruiser13:
I have a Sandisk Sansa e260 v2 with Rockbox 3.7 installed.

Recently purchased a 16GB Micro SD Card, however it is not being detected by the mp3 player.
Error Message I receive is:  "micro sd init failed : -2"
The machine then shuts over and repeatedly tries to reboot, only keep getting the same error message.

Could this be a problem with the 3.7 version. I previously had a similar player that I used with 3.4 that worked fine.

Any help is appreciated!

Try that current build at least and see if that fixes your problem.  If not, you'll probably have to wait until the SD driver is further improved.

3.5 was actually the first version of Rockbox that ran on your player, so its probably not a regression.  I suspect you were actually running rockbox on a different model of sandisk player, one with a more stable SD card driver.

Bruiser13:
yes, my previous player (lost it) was a e250r v1
Post Merge: February 16, 2011, 09:01:22 AMShould I try and install version 3.5 or 3.5.1 ? how would I know if the player is defective? anyway to test that? Thanks!

Did you try the current build yet to see if this problem has been fixed?

Bruiser13:
yes. I tried a number of things:

Current build
Version 3.5
Formatted the player and reinstalled firmware and Rockbox

It's supposed to be a refurbished machine, so I decided to return it and see if I could try another one.

I checked out the 16gb Micro card with h2testw and no errors were reported, so now I'm at a loss for anything to try next. Could be a hardware issue?
Thanks!
